Awareness for your Body, Mind, Heart & Spirit
Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is an integrative body-centered approach to addressing trauma, developed by Peter Levine, and once integrated can open pathways for healing and increased resilience.
The practitioner helps to guide the person through experiences that engage the body with subtle awareness of sensations, images, emotion and meaning. Moving gently between perception of tension and openness allows resourcing and balance to occur within the nervous system and body. This begins to address the root causes of symptoms and allows the mind and body to relate in a new and more empowering manner. The gentle process helps to create increased tolerance and willingness to explore difficult sensations and emotions from past traumatic experiences. The result is often a sense of ease and empowerment with a new understanding or narrative related to the past experiences.
Christine Milovani, LCSW is currently enrolled in the Somatic Experiencing Training Institute (200+ hours) to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She has completed two years of training and is moving into her Advanced year of training to be completed by October 2020. Christine is able to offer sessions that integrate her learning at the appropriate level of her current training process.
